Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce appoints Stryv Business Growth Partners founder, Tye Hillam, to its Committee and Chief Chamber Champion role to support local business growth, member retention and strategic initiatives.
Stryv Business Growth Partners founder, Tye Hillam, is appointed to the Committee of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce (GSCC) and takes on the additional role of Chief Chamber Champion, supporting the Chamber’s efforts to grow and retain its membership base.
In his new role as a Committee member, Tye contributes his experience working with small and medium service based businesses, helping shape the Chamber’s strategy and advocacy on behalf of local employers.
As Chief Chamber Champion, he also leads the Chamber Champions initiative. Under Tye's leadership, the program will focus on increasing membership through internal referrals and improving member retention through more intentional engagement and support.
“My goal is to help make the Chamber the place where serious business owners feel seen, supported and connected,” Tye says. “That means not just signing up new members, but helping existing members get real value from their involvement so they want to stay and bring others in.”
Under Tye’s leadership, the Chamber Champions group is working on structured ways for members to:
- Introduce quality new businesses to the Chamber through warm referrals
- Deepen engagement with current members through targeted check ins and support
- Create more opportunities for members to learn from each other and collaborate
GSCC President Neil Coupland welcomes Tye’s appointment and the energy he brings to the role.
“We look forward to working with Tye over the coming years and are confident he’ll bring fresh, innovative ideas to help strengthen and grow our Chamber,” Neil says.
Alongside his Chamber Champion responsibilities, Tye is also spearheading the Chamber’s International Men's Day activities. This includes coordinating a dedicated event and working with the Committee to select a men’s charity that the Chamber will support through fundraising.
“International Men's Day is a great opportunity to highlight the challenges many men face quietly in the background, especially business owners carrying a lot of responsibility,” Tye says. “If we can raise funds for a charity that supports men and also open up some healthier conversations in our business community, that is a worthwhile use of our platform.”
Tye’s appointment reflects the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses not only through networking events, but through practical initiatives that foster growth, resilience and community.
About Stryv Business Growth Partners
Stryv Business Growth Partners helps established service based business owners break through growth plateaus, build a stronger reputation and ultimately create a business that can thrive without depending on the owner every day. Stryv combines reputation building, marketing systems and long term strategic support to help owners grow profitably while increasing the value and saleability of their business.
Frosteez, Rising Sun Martial Arts and Stryv Business Growth Partners all secure finalist honours at the 2025 Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce Marquee Business Awards, sharing four awards between them.
Stryv Business Growth Partners and its clients have enjoyed a standout year at the 2025 Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce (GSCC) Marquee Business Awards, with Frosteez Mobile Car Air Conditioning, Rising Sun Martial Arts and Stryv itself all recognised as finalists in their nominated categories and sharing four awards between them on the night.
The results highlight the strength of local service-based businesses in the Greater Springfield region and the impact that a strategic focus on reputation, customer experience and structured growth can have over time.
In a single photo that sums up the evening, Stryv founder Tye Hillam stands alongside Glen Wiltshire from Frosteez and Sam Pitts from Rising Sun Martial Arts, each holding their finalist awards and collectively displaying four trophies.
“Seeing our clients up on stage and recognised among the top businesses in their categories is much more satisfying than any standalone award Stryv could win,” Tye says. “Our goal is always to help owners build businesses they can be proud of, so nights like this are a real milestone.”
Finalist recognition for Frosteez, Rising Sun Martial Arts and Stryv
Frosteez Mobile Car Air Conditioning was named a finalist in two categories, the Best Customer Service Award and the Outstanding Small Business Award, reflecting its commitment to quality workmanship, clear communication and an exceptional customer experience backed by hundreds of five star reviews.
Rising Sun Martial Arts reached the finalist stage in the Lifestyle Award, recognising the positive impact the dojo has on students and families across the community through training, discipline and personal development.
Stryv Business Growth Partners was recognised as a finalist in the Members Choice Award, a category that reflects the regard held for Stryv among fellow GSCC members and the value it provides to established service-based business owners who want to grow in a sustainable, strategic way.
“Awards nights are nice, but they only happen because of what you do all year,” says Rising Sun Martial Arts owner, Sam Pitts. “We are grateful to our students, families and the broader Springfield community for their ongoing support.”
A returning judge with a focus on integrity
Alongside client success on the night, Tye returned as a judge across multiple GSCC award categories.
To preserve integrity and avoid any conflict of interest, he does not judge in categories where Stryv or its clients have submitted entries. This clear separation allows him to contribute his experience while ensuring that all entrants are assessed fairly.
Tye’s judging work is an extension of Stryv’s focus on reputation building, particularly through its Awards Accelerator service, which helps business owners identify relevant awards, prepare strong submissions and leverage their recognition in a way that supports long term growth.
“Awards are not about collecting trophies for the shelf,” Tye says. “Handled properly, they are a powerful way to tell your story, motivate your team and build trust with clients and referrers. Our role is to help owners do that in a structured, ethical and sustainable way.”
Supporting the GSCC and local business community
Beyond the awards night, Tye continues to serve on the GSCC Committee and in his role as Chief Chamber Champion, helping to strengthen the Chamber through:
- Increasing membership numbers via internal referrals
- Improving member retention through strategic engagement
- Supporting signature initiatives such as the Chamber’s International Men's Day activities and associated charity fundraising
“The GSCC is a vital part of the local business fabric,” says Tye. “It is a privilege to support the Chamber both as a Committee member and as a growth partner to the businesses that call Greater Springfield home.”
Stryv now looks ahead to helping more service-based business owners build their reputation and grow profitably.
